Creating a sacred space in your place can provide innumerable benefits as it can serve as a place of respite during chaotic times and provide a touchstone of peace for your soul.
Such places of refuge can be as large as an entire room that is dedicated to your own personal form of meditation and relaxation or it can be a wall or an area of a bedroom and/or office. It can be outside or inside—the only necessity is that it is easily accessible and a place you can turn your attention on a daily basis to pause, breathe, restore, and renew.
Examples of scared spaces may include a spiritual prayer room, a library, a wall housing a fish tank, an area filled with family and vacation photos and cherished objects that fill one’s heart, an art room, or a completely empty space possibly filled with a single candle. You can do any combination of these things or something else that helps feed the higher parts of your heart and spirit.
Inspiration for the Day: “Your sacred space is an area where you can find yourself again and again.” -Joseph Campbell
