Any day can be the start of a new year and a new beginning. Before jumping in and making resolutions for improvement, try checking in with yourself and assessing if you’re receiving what you want in your life.
Is anything bothering you in your life? What purpose is it serving? Have you desired to do something yet been too afraid to pursue it? Is patience required in any area of your life?
One exercise is to document your satisfaction level with different areas of your life. Work, health, spirituality, time in nature, physical exercise, intimate relationships, friendships, family, home, where you reside, adventure, art, and rest.
After scoring, write down ten things that make you grateful. Even if it’s running water or simple things you take for granted. Once fully immersed in gratitude, review your assessment again and see if any of the scores changed. Pay extra attention to any areas that may have worsened. Potential solutions can be added to a third column. Then give yourself three-four months to re-review the list and see if circumstances have changed.
Inspiration for the Day: “Effective (people) have an identity. They know who they are, what they are capable of becoming, what they want out of life, and what is essential.” –Gerald Corey
