One of the biggest benefits of experiencing the flow of love (for one’s beloved, family, living creatures, universe, and beyond) is the ability to connect to the present moment and play.
The wisdom of not taking oneself too seriously is a great reminder to let go of preconceptions, expectations, scorekeeping, self-pity, fear, and anxiety. Allow oneself to play in life and feel the joy of the breeze blowing on one’s skin and the incredible healing release of a good bout of laughter.
You are never too old for play or love. One way to remind yourself of this is to keep a bottle of bubbles nearby and blow them when you get too serious, feel down, and even when excited. Try it with a partner or friend. Watch the bubbles with the delight of your inner child’s eyes and blow on them as a game as you try to pop all of them. Imagine the bubbles as a symbol for life and the free-flowing gift of love.
Inspiration for the Day: “The real secret of life is to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And, instead of calling it work, realize it is play." —Alan Watts
